Thought of writing some information on E6010 , so here goes!
These are some of the brief point , for more detailed lessons/resources , do search online.
When I first started off welding for the first time ( newbie) , I started off with E6013. That's like the basic electrode for me & with a 160A MMA welder machine . E6013, a mild steel type electrodes , are mainly used for welding sheet metal which will produce a smoother arc and a more uniform weld bead surface.
For E6010, it's great for mild steel joint in the vertical position with an open root . Often new welders find it difficult to choose between E6013 and E6010 , some prefer E6013 and other E6010, it's solely based on individuals. FYI , E6010 can be used in horizontal , flat , vertical or overhead position. For welders that are aiming at welding storage tanks or steel castings, these rods are your best friend.
Note:I'm not a professional welder so these are solely my personal opinion .
